To prevent false corrections that may occur indoors, we recommend removing the SpotOn GPS collar when your dog is inside the house. However, we understand this isn’t always feasible. That’s why we offer Home Zones.

GPS drift can occur indoors, potentially triggering false corrections. Home Zones let you define areas - such as your home - where corrections are disabled. This allows your dog to move in and out of the designated area freely without the risk of false corrections.

Our zones are highly customizable - you can create these zones right in the app by either drawing them or walking the perimeter for extra precision.

A Home Zone may be right for you if your property:

  • Does not have dense tree coverage over or directly next to your home.

  • Has no trees at all.

  • The area surrounding your home has a clear view of the sky with no overhead obstructions.

  • Has a metal roof.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • A Home Zone must be at least 30 x 30 feet (9 x 9 meters).

  • There must be at least 10 feet (3+ meters) between the Home Zone boundary and the fence boundary.

  • There must be at least 30 feet (9+ meters) between all zones.

To Create Home Zones

1. Open the SpotOn app.

2. Tap on "Fences" on the bottom bar.

3. Select a fence that you have created
*If you have not created a fence yet, tap on "Add Fence" at the top of the screen.

4. Select Edit Fence or Zones.

5. Toggle to "Zones" at the top of the screen.

6. Tap the "+" icon on the right of the screen to add a new zone.

7. Choose the zone type that you would like to create (Home Zone or Keep Out Zone) and follow the app instructions from there.
