"Keep Out Zones" act like a GPS fence within a fence. They are areas - like a flower bed, a swimming pool, or a chicken coop - you want your dog to stay out of as they roam inside their fence. A Keep Out Zone must be at least 30 ft by 30 ft. Due to the nature of Keep Out Zones, they may not be created in smaller fences, and there needs to be at least 30 ft between the Keep Out Zone boundary and the total fence boundary.


To create a fence inside a fence or Keep Out Zone, watch the video below and complete the following steps:

  1. After you create a fence, navigate to the "Fences" screen and select the related fence. Select "Edit Fence or Zones."
  2. On the upper-righthand corner of the screen, you will see three icons. The third icon down from the top is the "Create a Zone" button. Tap it and select "Keep Out Zone."
  3. Follow the in-app instructions to create a Keep Out Zone around your house.
