What does training entail?

Modified on Fri, Apr 3 at 2:48 PM

Training your dog to the SpotOn fence is simple with our DIY program. It takes about 15 minutes a day. Most dogs are trained within a couple of weeks. In fact, 99.3% OF DOGS STAY CONTAINED after completing our simple 3-step method.

SpotOn's advanced technology can do its job after you do yours, so it is extremely important to spend time training your dog.

As your dog nears the boundary, SpotOn issues two tones (starting 10 feet inside the boundary) and an optional static correction at the fenceline. Your dog needs to understand where the boundaries are and the meaning of the tones. Dogs that are successfully trained to respect the tones rarely experience a static correction.

All you have to do is watch a few videos and spend just a few minutes a day on smart, simple training to teach your dog what the tones mean, then gradually introduce distractions to make sure that training sticks.
