Overview

The SpotOn Fence Comfort Pads with wings are an add-on accessory for the Nova edition collar, designed for dogs that need improved skin contact. If your dog has a thick or coarse coat, or you’ve found that static correction hasn’t been as effective as expected, these pads were built for you.

Who Are These For?

These pads are ideal for:

• Livestock Guardian Dog (LGD) breeds - such as Great Pyrenees, Anatolian Shepherds, Akita, German Shepherd, Husky, Golden Retriever, Chow Chow, Samoyed, and Kangals. These dogs naturally have dense fur and loose skin around the neck, which can prevent standard prongs from making reliable contact. They also tend to be larger, more independent, and more stubborn, making consistent correction critical to effective training.
• Dogs with thick or coarse coats - any breed where standard prongs struggle to reach the skin.
• Dogs that need maximum static performance - if your dog has been less responsive to static correction at the highest levels, the winged design may significantly improve results.

Installation Instructions

The comfort pads kit includes: 

• 1 x Comfort Pads 
• 2 x Screws

You will also need: A screwdriver. 

1. Remove any existing prongs from the Nova collar. 
2. Align the screw holes on the comfort pads with the collar’s static correction holes.
3. Insert a screw and tighten it with a screwdriver (turn clockwise) until secure. 
4. Repeat with the second screw.

Make sure the collar fits correctly on your dog - snug but not too tight. A proper fit helps the comfort pads maintain consistent contact.

Tips for Best Results

• Start at a low correction level and adjust upward as needed. Because the comfort pads make better contact, your dog may respond at a lower level than you’re used to.
• Check the comfort pads regularly, especially during the first few weeks of use, to confirm proper fit and skin condition.
• The comfort pads help reduce the risk of skin irritation during extended wear in warm weather or moist conditions. Keep your dog comfortable by periodically rotating the collar position.

To confirm the static correction is functioning, start at the lowest correction level and gradually increase it until your dog shows a reaction.

If you would like to test the correction yourself, set the collar to the lowest level and briefly test it on a less sensitive area, such as your thigh. Use caution and avoid testing on sensitive areas of the body.
