How to Charge the SpotOn Nova Collar

What do I need to charge the SpotOn Nova collar?

The Nova Edition collar is black and has the logo centered, see illustration below. To charge, use the included wall charger (Rapid Charger), USB-C charging cable, and charging puck.

How do I charge the SpotOn Nova collar?

The SpotOn Nova collar uses a simple, magnetic charging puck that clicks into place on the center of the collar.

Tip: Make sure the cable exits the puck facing upward - this prevents the charging puck from shifting if the collar rests on its edge during charging.

The SpotOn collar should be charged daily so it’s always ready to use:

  1. Connect the small end of the cable into the charging puck. Align charging puck with dog icon on collar and gently press until it clicks.

  2. Plug the large end of the cable into the Rapid Charger - then connect the charger to an electrical outlet.

  3. When properly connected, the collar says “Charging” and blinks green, turning solid green when fully charged.

Charging takes about an hour from empty to full. For details on checking your collar's battery level, see this article.

Important

  • Don’t position the puck sideways on the collar - it won’t connect properly.

  • The charging puck is not a wireless battery pack. Never leave it on while your dog is wearing the collar.

Initial Charging Best Practices

Follow this battery calibration routine during your first week using the collar:

  • During the first week of use, calibrate the battery.

  • Allow the collar to fully discharge (power off due to low battery).

  • Recharge the collar to 100%.

  • Repeat this process after each use for a few days to complete calibration.
